October 1, 2001 revision. Explains standard grades for feeder cattle and why the classifications were developed. Issues such as frame size and muscle thickness are discussed. Outline illustrations of frame size are shown from a side profile as either large, medium, or small. The thickness rating of 1, 2, 3, or 4 is illustrated by rear outline veiws of a steer. Specifications for each classification of frame and thickness give a better idea of what to look for when evaluating feeder cattle. (5 pages)
